Awesome giveaway Kristin. Who couldn't use this sweeper?! Why I NEED it is when you have a toddler EVERYTHING gets picked up and eaten off the floor. Our sweep is a hand-me-down from my mom who got it from my grandma. It's a bazillion years old. I'd LOVE a new one that actually worked.

Why could *I* Heather use a Dyson?
I have a home daycare and cleaning is a MUST, cleaning is a daily routine around here and with a vacuum that isn't already sucking the way it should makes the job that much harder. For my children in the home, the floors must be clean so there aren't any hazards for them to possibly choke on or eat. I have 2 dogs & 1 cat which also shed hair, and make messes. I have lots of Mess Makers and not a mess cleaner that is sufficient. I would to win a Dyson! off to blog all about it for you!
Thanks! Heather

Hey Kristin!
Why could I use it?
Well. To give the short story, my dad left my mom and theyre getting divorced and my mom can no longer afford my childhood home :( So... my mom needs to sell the house and we're starting to clean it all out, going through boxes in the basement and attic and loft that havent seen the light of day in 15 years! Having a nice vacumn would be SO helpful and wonderful right now - my mom's vacumn is old and smells and works like poo. Cleaning it all out to put it on the market is stessful when you have to have your house in pristine condition to show it (esp when you dont want to sell it but HAVE to). Wow the look on my moms face would be priceless...i'd love to make her happy and make things a little bit easier with this whole moving process!
oh and did i mention 5 people and 1 extremely hairy fat dog w/ a medical shedding problem (honest!) live here-with extended family and friends coming over everyday. Daily mess and dirt galore!

lol oh and...with all the old dust and allergins being turned up with the cleaning out (and the dogs dander) all of our allergies are acting crazy! I didnt even know they MADE vacumns that helped with allergies, thats awesome!

I would love to win a Dyson! My husband and I both have asthma and really bad allergies. We have 4 cats & 2 Dogs which of course we would never trade for the world, we love them as our own children. So a proper cleaning machine would help aide in the being able to have our fur-children. I have a chronic Bladder disease (IC) which makes cleaning impossible, I have to have self propelled vacuum's which come with a heavy price, which we cannot afford. I would love to win a Dyson. Thank you for this great opportunity!

Well since my husband is deployed I've been living with my Grandparents and they have an ancient vacuum cleaner lol seriously they don't even make the bags for it anymore and they have to use the same bag over and over again... right now they're down on their luck and can barely afford gas or food much less a new vacuum cleaner. And Having myself and my one year old living in their house and treading on their carpets has started to take a toil on them! So this would be a small blessing to help to help them out since they've already helped me out so much!

Why do I need a Dyson?
First, we share our mainly carpeted apartment with a cat who sheds a fantastic amount of fur and a toddler who believes food should be flung whenever the opportunity presents itself. Not a day goes by when I'm not scooping up wads of cat hair or removing some ground-up food-like item from the carpet.
Second, my vacuum cleaner is old and falling to bits and every time I use it, I have this depressed feeling that I'm just wasting my time . . .
Finally, the above-mentioned vacuum cleaner was given to me as a birthday gift by hubby and, sweet though it was, I REALLY don't want my next birthday gift to be another so-so vacuum cleaner, I'd much rather win the best one out there! - At May 23, 2008 8:16 PM mrssmiff said...

Typical vaccuums have been no match for my long, curly head of hair! And...baby girl seems to be a noodle-head too. She also spends much of her time face down in my carpet right now as she's learning to move, so an exceptionally clean carpet would help minimize the mommy guilt.

Oh my the dirt I could suck up with this beautiful machine. I have 2 men (one a husband, one a roommate), one pug and one cat living in less than 1000 square feet of apartment!! It's amazing how much hair can accumulate in carpet and on furniture in a matter of days! Plus - my roommate has a habit of transporting dirt ALL OVER THE HOUSE - I even found spaghetti sauce at least 20 feet away from the kitchen - and on the miniblinds...I just don't want to know! :-)

I have 3 shedding fur kids who drag lots of outdoor schmutz inside. I have horrible allergies and could really use a Dyson to keep all of the nasties under control in my house, so I'm not sick and wheezy all of the time. Even though I take a small fortune's worth of state-of-the-art medications every year, all of the allergens are too overwhelming to handle. I need to reduce them with Dyson HEPA technology! Well, I have 2 cats, 2 boys ages 5 and 6, a daugther, and oh yeah, a HUSBAND who doesn't understand that dirty baseball cleats are not to be worn on our new carpet. Can I mention too that our vaccuum cleaner is ready to go to vaccuum heaven?

The best reason I can give you that I need this vaccum is that I have a dog. Every pet owner knows that there are few vacuums on the market that pick up dog hair.

We have a golden retriever who sheds A LOT. We are also getting ready to travel to Vietnam to pick up our daughter we are adopting. When we bring her home she will be 11-12 months old and crawling. It would be nice if she didn't have to crawl around amongst all of the fur:)

Fantastic prize!
I need to remove dirt from my home because it's always in here. I have 3 children and they drag everything outside into my home. My vacuum now is broken and I need to use only the tube attachment for it to work. Uggghhhh!

my vacuum is also on the fritz. i've got 4 dogs, one of whom sheds enough to warrant us saying we have 5 dogs. my first baby is due any day--lightweight, versatile, and dependable is exactly what our family needs right now! i've been drooling over this vacuum for awhile now. (you know you're nesting when you drool over vacuums at all...)

I would love to have a Dyson but being on a limited income it just hasn't happened. I have 3 kids and one of which is mentally handicapped. One of his handicaps is well he eats hair. We have a therapy cat for him that unfortuantely sheds a lot! I buy the cheaper vacuums and they don't do a very good job of picking up the cat hair. Winning this would be the answer to my prayers! Good luck to all who's entering this!

This would be great! I have two teenagee boys, a preschooler, a dog and three cats. I also have a husband with allergies.
I've been able to replace some of our carpet with laminate flooring, but most of our home still has allergen-holding carpet.
I do have a 10-year old Hoover that I just took in for service that does have some suction now, but the motor on my better Eureka vac just burned up a couple of weeks ago.
I had hoped to keep the Hoover downstairs for occasional cleaning in the basement, but since the Eureka died, it's now my upstairs vacuum. I'd love to add a Dyson to the family. - At May 24, 2008 12:31 PM seeryusfam@msn.com said...

I'm tired of my friends telling me how much they love their Dysons.

I saw this contest over at Red Sox Mommy and just HAD TO ENTER! You see, we're on our 6th vacuum since being married (7 years) and it just broke last week. I'm at my wits end with these WANNA BE Dysons! I've wanted a Dyson FOREVER! This vacuum would come at a time where it is MUCH needed. I have a almost 3 year old who is a tornado and a 9 month old who likes to eat from the messes she makes! He eats anything in sight, which is not a good thing when he's down on the floor crawling.. . . Anyways, I'd LOVE this vacuum and would use it EVERYDAY! :)
BTW- my blog is private, but I'd be more than happy to send you an invite (as though you don't have enough to do already) so you can view my post. I also added the contest badge to this post and on my sidebar.

Please let me know if I need to do the email version of the contest because due to my private blog and I'd be happy to do that. Emailing 2 people about this is cake as I'm already gonna do it anyways :) Just let me know if I need to CC you on them in order to be entered in the contest.
