Some people are quite hesitant to use sulfur to treat acne because of its side effects. But, it should be noted that these side effects only occur and are worse at the start of the treatment. They should be gone after a few days. These side effects include drying up of the skin, itching, irritation and peeling. Medical attention is necessary should these symptoms persist.

Meanwhile, in order to avoid these side effects and adverse reactions, precautionary guidelines should be considered. Sulfur products are manufactured by various companies and the eligibility of these items are quite uncertain. Thus, it is also important to ask product recommendation from the doctor. Aside from that, it is also important to follow directions on how to use each product carefully.

Pregnant women are also encouraged to consult their doctor prior to using any sulfur products. Some people may also be allergic to sulfur. Individuals with health problems are also advised not to use sulfur acne treatment. Sulfur acne treatment is safe and effective if precautionary guidelines are followed carefully before the therapy.
